Guardian Fire Shield Presentation

How fire retardants work

Impregnating treatments: These are treatments where the compound is absorbed into the timber cell walls and become part of the timber structure. This type of products removes the fuel source from the fire.

Fire retardants either prevent the flame or heat reaching the wood and igniting it, or they change the cell structure of the timber in such a way as to remove the wood as a source of fuel to the fire...  This does not mean that the timber will not chare and go black, when exposed to fire or radiant heat. What it does mean is that the timber will not ignite and when the heat source is removed no fire will remain.

Certified government testing

Guardian Fire Shield treatment has been tested under strict laboratory and field conditions and conforms to the requirements of Australian and New Zealand Standard AS-NZS 3837-2009 and European standard ISO 5660 meeting and exceeding the requirements of this strict
testing standard. These testing standards are the strictest in the world and designed to offer maximum protection for people relying on products tested and certified under their methods. Guardian Fire Shield meets AS3959/2009.
